What Is Growing In Your Gardens ?
As for me I have several varieties of Daffodils, early mid and late bloomong varietires, milti-flowering and double flowering varieties. Some all yellow some whitre with yellow centewr and some yellow with red centers.
Tulips too many varieties to mention, red white yellow purple and multicolored.
Hyacinths in yellow white pink red purple and blue.
Day Lillies, Asian Liillies
Peonies, red white and pink
White Shasta Daisies
a flowering White Star Magnolia
Beared Iris Cerulean Blue and white with Yellow beards.
English Tea Roses (red)
White and Purple Lilacs
--------
Now onto the Urban Orchard
Peaches
Nectarines
Grapes (white seedless and red seedless)
Red Lake Currants
Red Rasberries
--------
Thats what I have so far but I will probably add another grape (concord) and when I get rid of the dying maple I may add another fruit tree.
--------
The perennial flower beds are becoming too thick and will have to be dug up this fall and everything divided. (More Flowers) in expanded beds. The peonies are monsters and I dont know what to do with them.

What Is Growing In Your Gardens ?I intentionally put the weed kill on the spearmint. It was getting out of control. The other problem I have is ground Ivy. The stuff they sell at the garden center for like 5 bucks a start. The stuff is taking over. Anyone in the central Ohio want Ivy starts I will gladly accomodate you with a generous supply of starts. Actually I know I have at least two varieties and possibly a third. |

What Is Growing In Your Gardens ?Hey Bif - Normally I have an incredible garden but have this out of control magnolia that is about to get wacked down - so I can have some greens again for next year. I do have a butterfly garden: milk weed, lantana, cud weed, citrus for the swallowtails, pelatori for the red admirals (host plants). My grape vines have just started to bud. Three tea roses and I also have a bunch of weeds. I truly miss my garden. |

What Is Growing In Your Gardens ?Hey Biff: Spent the weekend mainly cleaning up the gardens. The fruit trees here are starting to blossom--my plum trees, crabapples and lone peach tree. Tulips are up but not much else. We have raspberries every year and a spice garden. My wife gets some pansies in pots and puts in some annuals. Our lilacs haven't blossomed yet either. We have a grape vine that struggles, hope it does better this year. |

What Is Growing In Your Gardens ?Hydrangea (Hortensia), Hollyhocks, Snapdragons, and assorted perennials - such as Tiger Lilies and Iris. Usually between my wife and I, we can manage a pretty good garden. My job now, I'm afraid, is trying to get the lawn to come back. It's VERY brown right now ...

What Is Growing In Your Gardens ?Some of the grapes didnt make it, more as a result of last years late spring freeze and then the summers heat and drought. So I will be replacing them today I think. |

What Is Growing In Your Gardens ?BufordBiffer: You have grapes? I'm sorry you lost them in the spring frosts. My parents have those - as well as raspberries, and blueberry bushes (which they cover with netting during the summer months). My mother is a whiz at canning -- she cans and freezes raspberries and during the winter makes what I feel are the best pies in the world -- all berry and no sugar, corn syrup, or any other additive. Just crust and berries. Man, I could sink my teeth into a slice of raspberry pie right now!!
